Santiago Cabrera at ComicCon 2019 in San Diego on 20th July 2019.  He took part in the “Star Trek: Picard” group panel along with Sir Patrick Stewart and other cast members.  They were joined by the showrunner and producers. Michael Chabon and Producers Alex Kurtzman, Kirsten Byer and Heather Kadin, and executive producer Akiva Goldsman who all seemed excited to be a part of Picard and working with Sir Pat. This appearance marks the 4th time Santiago has attended Comic Con in San Diego. Previously he attended with Alcatrez, a short lived TV Series from JJ Abrams and the last two years for CBS Salvation.

Santiago’s character for the newest Star Trek incarnation is named Cristobal (Chris) Rios. He’s described his character as an ex-member of Starfleet who is reluctant to join Picard at first. Details about all the characters are being kept somewhat mysterious as to not reveal too much too soon. The show has been announced to premier in Early 2020.

Sir Patrick also revealed in interviews that he has a new Number One, a four legged one! Check out that dog with the real name “Deniro”) who appears in the series artwork. Stewart promises Number One will appear in the regular series episodes – and he also revealed Jonathan Frakes – the original Number One – will guest star.

Star Trek: Picard

Star Trek: Picard will premiere in early 2020 on CBS All Access in the United States, The Space Channel in Canada, and Amazon Prime Video in 200 other countries.

Star Trek: Picard will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, James Duff, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth will serve as executive producers. Aaron Baiers (Secret Hideout) will serve as co-executive producer and Kirsten Beyer as supervising producer.
