Santiago Cabrera plays Merlin in Transformers?

Santiago gets a mention in a new feature article in the Summer 2017 edition of Empire magazine.  Reporter Alex Godfrey caught up with director Michael Bay and some of his team in April 2017 in Los Angeles while they were editing Transformers: The Last Knight.  Here’s the excerpt mentioning Santiago – ‘Bay screened The Last Knight’s opening sequence, featuring [writer] Ken Nolan’s drunk Merlin (played by Santiago Cabrera) and an enormous, intense, deafening medieval battle…’

Santiago as Merlin and a drunken one at that?!  That’s what the article says but he’s been previously announced as playing Santos, leader of the TRF force.  A mistake or a plot reveal?  Not long to wait to find out!  Transformers: The Last Knight has its global premiere in Leicester Square, London on Sunday 18th June.
