Santi is quoted in this article regarding the recent birth of his first child, a son with wife, Anna Marcea, and that he’d like to spend more time in Chile and have his son get to know his cousins there.

The article also quotes Santiago in regard to working on Big Little Lies, an HBO drama series coming to US cable audiences in February, 2016. The seven episodes are based on the Liane Moriarty best-selling novel about a group of mothers who have hidden secrets, eventually revealed with disasterous consequences. He reunites in the series with Nicole Kidman, who he co-starred with previously in the HBO mini-series Hemingway and Gellhorn produced in 2012, although most of his scenes in BLL are reportedly as Reese Witherspoon’s lover. In this press article Santi declines to comment on the nature of his character who was added to the story and not in the original book.

On another note, Santi discusses his recent role on the new Transformers movie, The Last Knight which recently wrapped filming in the US and several other worldwide locations, including the UK. Asked about his feelings regarding Michael Bay (and his difficult reputation), Santi remarked, “I had heard that, but the truth is I found him to be a very nice man. When shooting, he is very dedicated and highly concentrated. He works hard and expects a lot of those working with him.”
